Burlon Eugene Franks, 69, of Haleyville, died Aug. 13, 2002, at Carraway Burdick West Medical Center.

Franks was retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Effie Franks; sister, Lorene Lovett; and brother, Junior Franks.

He is survived by his wife, Aileen Newman Franks; daughters, Brenda Lee Murchison of Michigan and Lori Ann Bagwell of Haleyville; brothers, James Franks of Haleyville, Willard Franks of Tarrant, Carl Franks of Moreland Community; sisters, Ivajene McCarley of Double Springs, Imogene Ingle of Carbon Hill, Faye McCarley and Jewel Farris, both of Haleyville; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. at Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed in Winston Memorial Cemetery. Minister Glenn Bridgmon officiated. Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville directed.
