Bessie Lue (Gossett) Kelley, 52, of Double Springs, died June 14, 2010, at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation was held Wednesday June 16th from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. Services were held Thursday June 17th at 2:00 P.M. at Enon Missionary Baptist Church near Lynn. Burial followed in adjoining cemetery with Reverend Mickey Crane officiating.

Bessie was born March 1, 1958, in Haleyville and was preceded in death by her father, J.P. “Pete” Gossett; mother, Perlean Martin Gossett; brother, M.P. “Sammy” Gossett; and sister, Martha Lue Gossett.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Eugene Kelley; son, William Eugene Kelley; sister, Judy Sue Gossett; and nephew, Peter Jerome Gossett, all of Double Springs; three sister in laws, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her pain is o’er; she is not here.
Wipe tears from thy brown; she is rejoicing.
No more weary toils; she has been reunited with her departed ones.
She has seen the glorious river; God’s angels called her home.
Our home has now a vacant place, a silent voice; an absent face never to be replaced.
Bessie, we will meet you in the sweet bye and bye!
