In Memory of Bettie Noles. Mrs. Bettie Noles, wife of W.J. Noles, and daughter of W.M. and M.A. O’Mary, was born December 31, 1891 and departed this life May 17, 1913. Her remains were interred in Old Bethel cemetery, near Nauvoo, May 18. The deceased left a husband and three little daughters, besides her father, three sisters and five brothers to mourn her untimely death. The funeral service and interment were witnessed by perhaps 500 people, friends of the family, who turned out to pay their respects. She professed a hope in Christ and became a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in August 1912, and died in the full triumph of a living faith, but left many relatives out of Christ, whom we would admonish to get ready for the judgment day. Yes, it is time they were realizing they will have the judgment to meet, and that they, too, will have to lie in death as low as little Bettie and her poor mother who crossed over the river of death about eleven years before her. Dear readers, we are rejoiced over the assurance of meeting them and all our loved ones who are in that world of glory, reached only by the portal of the grave. [poem] Her Father. Nauvoo, May 31, 1913. [Bettie E. Noles, 31 Dec 1891 – 17 May 1913; buried Bethel Church Cemetery]
