Caldonia Farris

Written by Mary (Tinker) Stubbs

Caldonia Farris was the youngest daughter of Willis Farris and Jane Collins. Willis Farris was the first sheriff of Winston County, and he and his family can be found on the 1850 Census of Hancock County.

Caldonia was born on March 11, 1861 in Winston County, Alabama, and died on July 16, 1905. She can be found first on the 1870 Census of Winston County with her parents Willis and Jane. On September 3, 1877 she married John A. Glover in Walker County, Alabama. John was born on December 28, 1857 in Alabama. They are listed on the 1900 Census: District 156, Black Swamp, Winston, Alabama.

They were the parents of 8 children: Mary Jane, Jon W., Wiley Andrew, Sarah Elizabeth, William Tom, Crillar Ida Belle, Abner Dee, and Pearl E.

John and Caldonia resided most of their life around Lynn, Alabama, and their children and their families resided in Walker and Winston County. According to my records it is unknown where John and Caldonia died and are buried.
