Clarence Wonder 'Doc' Alexander, 77, of Double Springs died Saturday, Nov 13, 1999, at Carraway Hospital in Haleyville. The funeral was at 2 p.m. today, November 16, 1999 at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Williams Cemetery in Black Pond Community. L. C. Gilbreath officiated. Nichols Funeral home of Double Springs directed. He was a amember of the Double Springs Post no. 184 and was a charter member of the Black Pond Volunteer Fire Department. He worked in the coal industry as a heavy equipment operator and served three years in the U. S. Army and received several medals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Lydia Alexander; sister, hazel Earnestine 'Sis' Cook and two brothers, Earlie 'Bud' Alexander and Elvin Oscar 'L' Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Agnes P. Alexander of Double Springs; two daughters, Dale ann Humphries and Lottie Humpthries, both of Double springs; son Wendell Alexander of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, gaines Alexander of Indian Lake Estates, Fla. and Ray Alexander of Lakeland, Fla; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kevin Alexander, Keith Humphries, Danny Alexander, Gaines Jr. Alexander, Garrick Beck and Scott Keeton.
