Sings At Own Funeral. On June the 21st, 1933, Even E. Denson, of Arley, Alabama, prominent singer among the singers of North Alabama, passed away. His remains were placed at old Mt. Pisgah Church with special music offered by his own voice, which had been recorded some few years ago. This was a very unusual service as the voice of the deceased rang out over an audience of several hundred people. It brought cries and tears from hundreds who witnessed the scene. Mr. Denson was the youngest son of old Prof. S.M. Denson, who has taught the Old Sacred Harp music most all over Alabama and Georgia and is still living at the age of 80 years. The voices who participated in the cords of the deceased were his brothers, Whit and Robert Denson, O.A Parris, J.C. Brown and Charles Wisner, of Arley, Alabama. Even leaves a wife and eleven children, father, five brothers, one sister and a host of relatives and friends. "His last song has ended here, but his melody lingers on."--Haleyville Advertiser-Journal
