A Good Old Mother Dead. Died, at the home of a son-in-law, near Haleysville, on Monday, June 24, Mrs. Elvira Feltman, at the ripe old age of eighty-nine years. She was well known to the older citizens of the county. She was a native of Tuscaloosa county and came to Walker with her husband back in pioneer days. She was the mother of fifteen children, Mrs. E. O'Rear, of near town, being one of the number. The children scattered over several states, some preceded her to the great beyond, and her grand and great grand children number up into the hundreds.

For a number of years she had been a cripple and almost helpless, but she was never heard to murmur over her condition, except to often express bitter regret that she was not able to get about and administer to the needs of others, as she had done in the past, and that she herself had become a burden. Her last years were spent in visiting around among her children and grand children in this and adjoining counties.

Her remains were carried to Wolf Creek, this county, and laid to rest by the side of those of her husband, who preceded her to the grave a number of years ago. A good old mother in Israel is gone to receive the promised reward, in her case so richly earned by a life of true faithfulness.
