Edward James Alexander, 72, of Cordova died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center-Walker.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at the Bell Funeral Home Chapel in Sumiton with burial in Edgil Grove Cemetery. Rev. Gary Salters will officiate. Bell Funeral Home is directing.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today, Jan. 6, 2002, in the parlor at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Willie Faye Alexander; two daughters, Barbara Thrasher and Sonya Harrison, both of Dora; six sons, Ricky Alexander of Pineywoods, Gary Alexander, Kenneth Dutton, Kevin Alexander and Adam Alexander, all of Sumiton, and Ronnie Alexander of Dora; a sister, Olene Gay Alexander of Georgia; five brothers, Alvin Alexander of Tennessee, Leon Alexander of Arley, R.C. Alexander and Herbert Alexander, both of Jasper, and Bobby Alexander of Carbon Hill; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
