Evelyn Spain, 73, of Jasper died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2003, at New Hope Church of Christ on Rose Hill Road with burial in the Popular Springs Cemetery. Revs. Waymon Ashley, Randy Jones and Mickey Millican will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 tonight, July 13, 2003, at the funeral home and from 10 until 11 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2003, at the church. Collins Burke Funeral Home is directing.

She was preceded in death by parents, Earl and Zonnie Bell Alexander Chambers; and husband, Junior Ray Spain.

She is survived by her son, Bobby Ray Spain of Jasper; sisters, Joyce Skinner of Jasper, Claris Haley of Orange Springs, Fla., Clarisie Morris of Bessemer and Rosie Lee Lee of Bessemer; brothers, Elbert 'Bud' Chambers, Henry 'Sharkie' Chambers, and Harold Chambers, all of Florida; and two grandchildren.
