DOUBLE SPRINGS -- Herbert Hearley Godsey, 72, Double Springs, died Wednesday, January 14, 1981 of a heart condition at Burdick-West Memorial Hospital. He was born in Winston County and was a farmer.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery with Nichols Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fanny Godsey, of Double Springs; five sons, Calvin, R.C., Levi, Hearley, and Jerry Wayne Godsey; six daughters, Mrs. Marie Smith, Mrs. Ruby Odom, Mrs. Eddeth Barton, Mrs. Nellie Alexander, Mrs. Helen Baker, and Mrs. Loretta Whitman; four brothers; two sisters; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
