Mr. James Calvert Dead. James Calvert, a most highly esteemed citizen, died at his home near Ardell last Saturday and the burial took place Sunday. A correspondent writes of his death as follows: One of our highly esteemed and beloved citizens passed into the great beyond late Saturday evening, November 25th, that of Mr. James Calvert. The cause of his death was from an abscess, which caused him continuous suffering for about ten months, ending yesterday. Mr. Calvert was a faithful church member, belonging to the Primitive Baptist church at Liberty. He was beloved by his neighbors for his general kindness—no one was afraid to call on him for a favor. Mr. Editor, while we have lost him from our midst, you have lost a good subscriber. The funeral service took place at the Wilson cemetery Sunday evening, Rev. York conductor. He goes to join his devoted wife who preceded him some fifteen or sixteen years, and leaves behind two children, Tommy and Ida, to mourn their loss. [James Calvert, 8 Apr 164 – 25 Nov 1911; buried Wilson Cemetery]
