NAUVOO -- Joseph Columbus Martin, 70, passed away in a local hospital Monday morning at 1 a.m. Mr. Martin had only been ill for about four days.

Funeral services will be held at Old Enen Baptist church with burial in the adjoining cemetery, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Chanlis will officiate.

Nichols Funeral Home will direct interment.

Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Martha Martin; five daughters, Mrs. Dena Berry, Freda Smith, Mae Martin, Pearline Gossett and Vaudine Hart; three sons, L.C., Franklin D. and Arthur Martin; two brothers, Jack Martin and Vester Martin; two half-sisters, Mrs. Robert Martin and Lefie; four half-brothers, David, Sol, Elsie and Woodrow Martin; 28 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
