James H. Wilson Obituary

From the Advertiser-Journal June 1932
Submitted by Joyce Farris

Saturday morning, June 4th, 1932 death came almost instantly to Mr. J. H. Wilson, of Center School District. Mr. Wilson was 76 years, 7 months and 10 days of age, having lived for many years at his home, four miles north of Haleyville. He reared a family of eight children, of which all are living.

Messrs C. G., H. M., and B. Wilson, of Haleyville and Austin, who is now living in California. Also Mrs. Minnie Cheatham, Mrs. Ollif Davis, Mrs. Almedia Long and Mrs. Emmy Cheatham, of Haleyville and his wife, who is past 77 years of age, to mourn his departure.

As Uncle Jim has been a faithful member of Prospect Church for fifty-one years he will be greatly missed. His only sister living is Mrs. Harriet Waldrop, being the last member of his entire family.

Uncle Jim was kind and true "and" loved by all who knew him. He lived a faithful Christian life and hovered in his breast the true expectation of being with his loved ones and Christ in the city of God.

Interment was at Prospect Cemetery Sunday afternoon, June 5th. Funeral conducted by the pastor Rev. Jimmie Reeve, who made a wonderful talk.

Brother Wilson's place in the church will be vacant but he has gone home to receive a crown of righteousness and live with Jesus.

How important it is for us to live a clean life and be prepared at all time should God see best to call.
