Obituary. Mrs. Lela F. Gibson, daughter of Nathan and Liza Langley, was born near Mellville, Ala., April 3rd 1887 and died at Arley, aged 20 years 1 month and 24 days, was married to Walter M. Gibson, son of Rev. George W. Gibson, June 13th, 1905. There having been born to them one child which preceded the deceased to the sweet land of rest. Sister Gibson took consumption about one year before her death, the last 4 or 5 months of which was confined to her bed. There was all medical aid rendered which could possibly be obtained, but alas! Her case was one that medical aid could not reach and about 3 o’clock Monday morning May 27th the golden bowl was broken, the silver strand was loosed, and her spirit took its flight to the spirit land to await the sweet resurrection morn. The funeral was conducted by Rev. J.P. Gilliland at Mt. Hope Thursday evening May 28th at which place her last remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at 2 o’clock in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing relatives and friends. She leaves a dear companion and many relatives and friends to mourn their loss, and we trust their loss will be her gain in the glory world. Sister Gibson professed a hope in Christ about 2 years ago and joined the Missionary Baptist Church of which she lived a consistent member until her death. She was never heard to speak evil of her neighbors and was always ready to lend a helping hand to any cause which was to the upbuilding of the community and country.

Oh, how sweet the thought will be,
When our loved ones faces see;
And we strike their hands once more,
On the bright, celestial shore.

There we’ll form one united band
With our golden harps in hand
And we’ll sing before the throne,
On that resurrection morn.
