Hon. O. P. G. Clarke
Commissioner of Pensions
Washington, D. C.

Sir:

I have the honor to state that Ashley A. J. Lovett of Double Springs, Winston Co., Ala. Informs me that Isabel L. Friday and W. A. J. Lovett of Double Springs, Ala., minor children of Andrew Jackson Lovett late private of Co. A. 1 Alabama Cav have never received their arrears of pension. About five years ago a voucher came for four hundred and forty eight dollars ($448) which was signed and returned to the pension agent and since then nothing has been heard of the money. They think that Loyd H. Cagle, the Guardian of the orphan children, whose post office address is Double Springs, Alabama, knows where the money was used; but they can obtain no information from him and do not know the number of the certificate.

Very respectfully,
Your obedient servant
A.M. McLacklen
