The Winston County Genealogical Society met at the Double Springs Community Center.

I. Minutes:

    1. Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved.

II. Treasurer’s Report:

    1. Checking Account: $1,213.60
    2. Expenses:

    1. Trail Tracker Printing: $112.05
    2. Postage: $32.19

III. Old Business:

    1. The bylaws were approved as is.
    2. THE TREE by Katie Taylor was accepted as the unofficial logo of the society. Darryal Jackson will work with getting the students’ information for the $50 bond.
    3. Sandy Horsely called during the meeting. The county commission have documentation and proof that the building and land is owned by the county. They will be getting us tables and desks.

IV. New Business:

    1. There will be a wreath laying at the Garrison-Payne Cemetery on May 19, 2007, starting at 1:30 P.M. People wanting to attend are urged to park their cars at the edge of the Antioch Church.
    2. Arley Day will be on May 19th as well.
    3. The Heritage Ball will be this Saturday, April 21.
    4. A CD of census images and indices for Walker/Hancock/Winston Counties from 1840 to 1890. See Darryal for copies.

V. Program:

    1. Carla Waldrep and Steve Turner presented and portrayed the lives of Aunt Jenny Johnston and Dick Payne.
