The Winston County Genealogical Society met at Pork and Beans in Double Springs.

I. Minutes:

    1. Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved.

II. Treasurer’s Report:

    1. Checking - $1,293.93

III. Old Business:

    1. The parking lot looks great at the archives, but we are still pending opening.
    2. An article on Millstone Mountain is in the works for the next newsletter.
    3. The collage of town signs is in place on the web site.
    4. Treva has the microfilm for the following years of newspapers: 1908, 1915, 1918, 1919, and 1920.

IV. New Business/Upcoming Events:

    1. The small building at Darryal’s where the society has it’s material stored is becoming unavailable. We need to find another place for storage.
    2. Another tour, this time in the Bankhead and Sipsey areas, is being planned for June.
    3. A fundraiser will be planned once we get into the archives.

V. Program:

    1. For our program, we met at Double Springs Memorial Gardens to learn and practice the techniques of grave dowsing with copper rods. This really works!
