The Winston County Genealogical Society met at Winston County Archives in Double Springs.

I. Minutes:

    1. Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. Trevia made a motion to accept the minutes as read; Rich Evans seconded; and the motion carried.

II. Treasurer’s Report (Since October 19):

    1. Checking - $3,380.64

    2. Heritage Book - $1,301.00

    3. Deposits since last meeting: $53.90

    4. Checks written since last meeting: none

    5. Total - $4,681.64

III. Old Business:

    1. There is a breakdown available for the petty cash fund at the archives if anyone wishes to see it. The beginning balance was $75 on April 26 and as of November 10 has a balance of $92.35.

    2. Handbooks for the society that includes a membership list was sent out recently. The cost of printing and mailing them was $62.79.

    3. For the treasury records, the committee reported a $2 discrepancy. The treasurer noted that his records at home and the money were correct and that the discrepancy was in the deposit book.

    4. The form for the dishonesty policy was mailed the day after our last meeting, and nothing has been heard from Byars and Associates since. P.J. will call them.

IV. New Business/Upcoming Events:

    1. Among several recent donations were an ink cartridge and at least 20 books donated by Joan White Crittenden.

    2. Jack Westberry of the Coweta County (Georgia) Genealogical Society wants to exchange newsletters with our society. After discussion, everyone was unanimous to exchange newsletters with Coweta County.

    3. A quilt show will be at Natural Bridge from 8:00 to 4:00 November 20.

    4. Mr. Weilmuenster has painted the historic Corinth Church, and this painting is at the archives. He has recently finished one of Turkey Foot Falls.

    5. Our next meeting will be our Christmas dinner. It will be the second Tuesday of December, on December 14, at 6:30. Several locations were discussed, and Trevia will contact those to see if they can accommodate us on that day. She will e-mail everyone on the location.
