III. Old Business:

    1. Dianne spoke with Mr. Downs about our taxes. He said to mail the information to him, and he will take care of it. P.J. is getting everything together to send, including 2010 bank statements. All are available except March, and P.J. will contact Traders and Farmers Bank about getting those. If any of us have questions, we can call Mr. Downs.
    2. Dues are past due.
    3. Plans for opening in May will be discussed at our March meeting.
    4. For our T-shirts, it was decided upon to use pictures of the Houston Jail, courthouse, Dual Destiny, Free State Barn, and Winston County Archives for a collage. A white fabric was decided on as the color. Karon Welch knows someone who will do two designs so we can vote on it at the next meeting. P.J. will get the pictures to Karon. After discussion, Darryal made a motion to proceed with these plans, and P.J. seconded.

IV. New Business:

    1. Steve Turner will present a program at our next meeting.
    2. The society gave approval for Dianne and Trevia to purchase supplies for the archives, including archival boxes.
    3. More shelving will be at the archives soon, and an Eagle Scout is making plans on trying to get us a flag and some landscaping work.
    4. The Free State Barn is in danger, from roof damage, partly from storms. Darryal will get in touch with Jim Manasco for details on the roof.
    5. More probate books were found in the old library, including land tax books and portions of the "Anchor" and "Busy Bee" newspapers. Some are damaged past the point of restoring. Jerry will check on Winston newspapers at the Walker County Probate Judge’s office.
    6. Jerry will be checking on getting a reporter from the Daily Mountain Eagle and the Birmingham News to do an article on us.
    7. Darryal made a motion to purchase the new book by Glenda McWhirter Todd, Heartbreak of a Civil War Widow. Rich seconded, and the motion carried.
