V. New Business:

A. Sheila Wallace has donated pictures of the old Ingle – Blake House. She also donated $100.00 to purchase picture frames or any needed supplies for the Archives. Darryal made a motion for Treva and Cindy to withdraw this amount and keep at the Archives to make these purchases. Jerry seconded and the motion carried.

B. The Weilmuensters found chairs at an auction and purchased and donated them to the Archives. They are very much appreciated.

C. The Walker County newsletter indicated they had 2 volumes of cemetery books for sale. Treva made a motion to purchase these and Carol seconded. The total cost is $70.00.

D. Ronald took the floor and advised the Society that P.J. had resigned as Secretary/Treasurer. According to the Bylaws the Board of Directors should appoint a replacement when there is a vacancy in an office. This replacement will serve until the next election. The Board appointed Cindy Guthrie and she accepted effective July 20. After the June meeting there was an issue that arose concerning a motion that Joann felt had been changed. Ronald and Dianne stressed to the Society that any corrections should be discussed and made at the meetings at the appropriate time and not by email or other channels. Dianne stressed she always leaves plenty of time for corrections after the minutes are read. The Society always strives to be open and fair to all members.

E. Each member present thanked P.J. for the superior job he has done for the Society… and not just the Society but Winston County!

F. The bond issue for our Secretary/Treasurer was discussed. Jerry and P.J. indicated the bond was for the actual position and not the filling the position and no action was required.

G. The Knight Reunion will be August 28th.
