The Winston County Genealogical Society met at the Winston County Archives in Double Springs.

I. Minutes:

A. Minutes from the last meeting were read. Trevia made a motion to

accept the minutes as read; Jerry Lovett seconded and the motion carried.

II. Treasurer’s Report ( As of September 20):

A. Checking - $4,409.79

III. Petty Cash Report:

A. 7-19-2011 through 10-16-2011 Beg $141.50 current $128.47

IV. Old Business:

A. Tuscumbia postage due on newsletters. So far Tuscumbia is the only ones we have had with

B. Hard drive is installed and everything is backed up and will back up all new materials.

D. Jerry Lovett went to Probate office in Jasper and said that the office would get the papers to us.

E. Darryl spoke to James Glenn concerning the Free State Barn, Mr. Glenn explained that he

Purchased the barn to save it and he may have the materials on hand to do some of the repairs.

It is time to start getting the repairs started. Diane asked about getting the newspaper involved.

H. Walk through Double Springs with Darryl at 2 pm on 22 October 2011 meet at the Archvies.

VI. Jerry Lovett presented a program on the Rock House. He explained how it had been used as a

Church and a school at one time. He explained in such a manner that we could envision being there.

Suggested that we make a trip there as a group, but to make sure the planning was done in a respectful

Manner to the property owners. Also said he may be able to get Ashley Lovett’s uniform for the

Archives. That he is going to do his best to do this.
