The Winston County Genealogical Society met at the Winston County Archives in Double Springs.
I. Minutes:

C. Christmas Party is Tuesday 13 December 2011 @ 6:30 pm at the Sephora Grill.
VI. Steve Turner provided the program on Bear Creek. It was a very informative program about how Bear Creek was called Allens Factory. How it was operated by Langdon Allen and he represented Marion County in the secession convention at Montgomery in 1860. The original Bear Creek was about 1 mile down the creek west of the present town. This was during the civil war and prior to the starting of the present town of Bear Creek.
Steve Turner also donated the letter of Commendation by Governor Bentley concerning John A. Winston
