The Winston County Genealogical Society met at the Winston County Archives in Double Springs.

I. Minutes:

A. Minutes from the last meeting were read. PJ made a motion to

accept the minutes as read; Carole Weilmuenster seconded and the motion carried.

II. Treasurer’s Report ( As of December 20):

A. Checking - $3289.57

III. Petty Cash Report:

A. 10-17-2011 through 1-17-2012 Beg $128.47 current $93.86

IV. Old Business:

A. Carole Weilmuenster asked about the barn after the latest storm. Dianne explained that

she had talked to Chad Fell and he is going to get with Darryal Jackson to write an article

about the barn by interviewing Darryal Jackson. Carole Weilmuenster went on to suggest

someone get in touch with Modern Woodmen Insurance about donating and raising money

for the restoration of the barn. Dianne went on to further state that upon the article by Chad

Fell the interest in the barn will be generated.

B. Dianne mentioned the new copier being installed and up and running

D. The field trip to the Rock House will be 28 January 2012 at 1:00 if the weather is bad the field

trip will be on February 4, 2012. We will meet at the Henryfield Church. PJ made the motion

that we do the above and Faye Ellenburg seconded

E. Trevia read the Thank You card from Joyce Farris upon the money contribution . We went on

to discuss the policy of the WCGS concerning deaths of members family and whether we had

a policy of the books concerning what we should do upon this occurrence, it was decided we

should do either one upon the death of members or their immediate family members.

V. New Business:

A. Darryl made a motion for Dianne, Treva, Cindy to buy printer as well as another external

Hard drive to keep off site in case the building is ever destroyed Jerry Lovett seconded.

B. Carole Weilmuenster explained about her accident of 17 January 2012 that as a result of

her accident it was brought to Roger Hayes attention that the parking lot needs to be

finished to the building and that an engineer will be in contact to get this done.

C. Treva explained that they have started on the next Pioneer Book, persons born before 1900

for book 1 and book 2, she also explained about Robin Sterling’s new book.

D. PJ needs material for newsletter, would like it to be anything but articles that have been or

be in the newspaper

E. The election for 2012 took place Jerry Lovett made a motion for the officers that are in office

now to stay in office to make no changes. Carole Weilmuenster seconded the motion. PJ

nominated Cindy Guthrie for secretary/trreasurer, Ronald Jackson seconded. A vote was called

for and the officers stand for 2012.

F. Jerry Lovett nominated PJ Gossett to be the new board member and Trevia Hood seconded it.
