Total is $321.26

Deposits: $561.55

Old Business:

It was decided to do the mass mailing of flyers advertising the WCGS and Archives around first of February. The cost will be $92.32 for the 577 houses on the Double Springs route, Route 1, decided upon at the November meeting.

The Society voted to send Arcadia Publishing $80.75. The persons at the company that Treva and Dianne have spoken to for the last 4 months have told us our balance is zero, yet we have still been receiving statements. An email from them indicated their sales rep was deducting the sales tax twice. We decided to pay this amount and hopefully never have to deal with this company again. It was also suggested we send a copy of our correspondence to them to the Better Business Bureau. Kenneth Ward made the motion and Carolyn Hunter and P.J. Gossett seconded.

New Business:

Officers for 2013 were elected. They are as follows:

President: Treva Hood Vice President: Dianne Miller Sec./Treas.: Cindy Guthrie

Board Members remained the same: Jerry Lovett, Darryal Jackson, and P.J. Gossett

Margaret and Larry Lee, producers of the cable TV show "Special People & Places", were in attendance. They offered to return and film the Archives, courthouse and Free State Barn. They would like to tell the story of the Free State of Winston. It was decided they would return for our March 19th meeting. Peggy Norris will be our guest speaker and is planning to talk about and sing fold songs of our ancestors.

P.J. has put all of our past newsletters on a DVD and will be available for sale for $10.00.

13 in attendance.

No further business. Meeting adjourned.
