III. Old Business:

    1. We received an e-mail from the state archives concerning the grant application for the digitizing of the marriage books. It was stated that some additional information can be added to improve the chances of the grant being accepted. Sheila Moore will get this information to Treva.
    2. We have sold four books online through Lulu so far. The payments to the society are mailed at the end of each quarter if there is a balance of $20 or more. Robin’s books are currently sold out at the archives.
    3. For the Free State Barn, a piece of metal will need replacing, along with metal on the north side and some bracing on the inside.
    4. At our last meeting, Floyd Guthrie mentioned that we get Rick Watson from the Daily Mountain Eagle for a program on making books. Floyd sent us his contact information, and Darryal will contact Rick.

IV. New Business:

    1. Plans are in the works for getting a better copy of the 1948 movie of the opening of Crittenden’s store, along with a 1950, about 1953, and a 1983 movie concerning Double Springs. Darryal contacted Helen Crittenden Batchelor. Although she does not have contact information on Judy Crittenden Boykin, she does know and can get in touch with Joan White Crittenden. Another contact could be Martha, daughter of Mitchell Drake. It was discussed that Harold Bearden at HBTV in Haleyville could possibly transfer the original film to DVD for us, if this was not transferred to this format already. Another option is to advertise in the Northwest Alabamian that we would like to have copies of these movies.

V. Program:

    1. None

  1. Attendance: 10

Meeting adjourned.
