The Winston County Genealogical Society met at the Winston County Archives.

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Pat Owsley made a motion to accept the minutes as read and Joyce Farris seconded.

Treasurer’s report:

There were 2 checks written totally $329.73 leaving a balance of $2702.20.

Old business:

Treva reported that Robin Sterling has finished the first Marion County newspaper book and it is being proofed at this time.

Treva and Cindy attended the regrant workshop in Montgomery on Thursday. We were informed that our grant money should arrive in December.

Darryal reported that he had spoken to the owner of the Free State Barn and he indicated he would take care of the repairs needed.

The 2nd and 3rd volumes of "Unionists in the Heart of Dixie" have been purchased and are at the Archives.

New business:

P.J. is working on a book about the Lynn area.

It was decided to have our Christmas meeting at the Archives with finger foods and snacks.

Everyone was advised that January is election time and to be thinking about that.

Program:

Ann Baughn spoke on her Lynn family, whom the Lynn area is named after. She brought lots of pictures and everyone really enjoyed her visit.
