The Winston County Genealogical Society met at the Winston County Archives in Double Springs.

I. Minutes:

A. Minutes from the last meeting were read. Ronald Jackson made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Faye Ellenburg seconded, and the motion carried.

II. Treasurer’s Report:

    1. Beginning Balance: $2,160.17
    2. Deposits: $351.51
    3. Checks: $320.65 - UPS Store for newsletter printing: $81.75; Treva Hood, $238.90 for Ancestry subscription ($189.00), Fold3 Subscription ($39.95), and Alabama Pioneers Book ($9.95)
    4. Ending Balance: $2,191.03

III. Petty Cash Report:

    1. Beginning Balance: $76.23
    2. Copies: $19.00
    3. Mailings: $6.67
    4. Ending Balance: $88.56

IV. Old Business:

    1. The Alabama Pioneers book has been ordered.
    2. The society sent Lawrence County a newsletter DVD.

V. New Business:

    1. Newsletters are out.
    2. Many new books and periodicals have been donated by Angie Barnett and Dianne Miller.
    3. Dianne shared a book titled Wilkes County, Georgia Land Records, Vol. 1 that was given to her by Linda Aaron. After discussion about purchasing volume one and two as a set for $150, Jerry Lovett made a motion to buy the two books, Ronald Sandlin seconded, and the motion carried.

VI. Program:

    1. Robin Sterling entertained us with stories from the forthcoming book Tales of Old Winston.
