The Winston County Genealogical Society met at the Winston County Archives in Double Springs.

I. Minutes:

A. Minutes from the last meeting were read. Treva made a motion to accept the minutes as read; Darryal seconded; and the motion carried.

II. Treasurer’s Report:

    1. Beginning Balance: $2,154.83
    2. Deposits: $105.00
    3. Checks: 0
    4. Ending Balance: $2,259.83

III. Old Business:

    1. The Wilkes County, Georgia land books have arrived.

IV. New Business:

    1. New books have been donated, including Haleyville annuals. A new photo of Clancey Lumber Company in Grayson when Governor Patterson visited was donated by James Glenn.
    2. The Tidwell reunion will be September 12th at Natural Bridge
    3. The newsletter will be out next month.
    4. A New Book singing will be in Houston the second Sunday of September at 10:30.

V. Program:

    1. Rickey Butch Walker gave a slideshow presentation about Indian trails in North Alabama and surrounding areas. He brought extra copies of his books to sell, and they are also on Amazon. The High Town Indian Path was a highlight of the program.
