IV. New Business:
- Robin Sterling has donated a new newspaper book on Blount County covering the years 1939 to 1942. He has plans to update the Winston cemetery books.
- Robin Sterling spoke at the last meeting of the Marion County Genealogical Society. Trevia and Dianne will be the speaker in the next couple of months.
- Recent donations include a Larue County, Kentucky cookbook by Dianne Miller. Diane Allison donated a VHS tape of the second season of Looney’s Tavern and a painting of the old Wadsworth store at Arley (now Traditions Bank).
- P.J. recently contacted the Tuscaloosa County Genealogical Society and found that the Tuscaloosa News is online at the Google News database and that they do newsletter swaps. Dianne made a motion to do a newsletter swap, Carolyn seconded, and the motion carried.
- Trevia and Dianne wanted to let everyone know that they have set up a computer fund, with a current balance of $460. Money going to this fund comes from our Winston Roots, Vol. 3 book sales and monetary donations to the society. Becky Davis recently made a $200 donation.
- The newsletter index has now been completed, thanks to Raven Millwood and Pat Taylor.
- Trevia and Dianne brought up that Winston Roots, Vol. 1 is still priced at $16.95 and since it’s over six years old, that we might want to reduce that price to $15. Pat Taylor made a motion that the society lower the price to $15, P.J. seconded, and the motion carried.
