Old Business:

None

New Business:

Two of the three Marion County cemetery books were received. Sharlene Stough traded the books for three of our WCGS books. She is attempting to get the third cemetery book copied for us.

It was decided to contact the Rising Smoke restaurant to see if they can accommodate us for our Christmas meeting on December 6th. Treva will call them. If they can't the meeting will be at Lakeshore.

Dues are due in January. Officer elections will be in January also.

Recent donations include a painting of the Fredonia Haven Nursing Home, now Hendrix Health Care, by J.D. and Theresa Snoddy and Hiking Sipsey book by Pat Taylor and Cindy Guthrie.

Charles and Pat Taylor were recognized for the brackets that hold pictures, leaflets, etc. on our newspaper cabinets.

A Family History Spotlight section has been added. Each month a new family history will be featured with books, pictures, etc. This month is the Claiborn family.

Steve Turner announced that the 1st Saturday in December is the ride for the Eldridge Children's Home. This has become a major fundraiser for the Home.

Program:

Steve Turner spoke to us about the restoration project of the Joe Wheeler Home in Hillsboro, AL. The home was in major disrepair and now has been restored and opened to the public. The SCV's have donated many thousands of dollars toward this project. He passed out brochures giving information and hours of operation. The SCV's attempted to get a monument placed near the home but political issues have halted that attempt. Instead a monument will probably be placed at the Joe Wheeler State Park Lodge.

Steve also spoke about the Hubbard Family reunion he attended in Decatur, AL. This was the first Kinlock Falls Area Reunion but hopefully there will be many more. He has loaned us a DVD about the Hubbard Family history.

Another project he is involved in is a sculpture for Aunt Jenny Johnson. This sculpture will hopefully be placed at the Oakville Indian Museum.

Lastly, Steve donated a sketch of Charles Christopher Sheats and a picture of the Kinlock Covered Bridge to the Archives.
