Great Grandpa Levi Watts and siblings listed in 1850 Blount County Alabama Federal Census, with oldest siblings listed as being born North Carolina and younger ones listed born Georgia - oldest known brother was Samuel Johnson Watts b. 1810 NC and youngest Jacob V. WATTS b. 1836 GA (bur Old Houston Cem, Winston Co AL). Samuel Johnson Watts died in 1889; his WILL probated 1891 in Winston County, Alabama listing all his surviving siblings ( Rufus Ellis Watts, Martha Watts (married Jacob WATTS 1841 Lumpkin CO GA), Survantus Watts, Jacob V. Watts and Levi Watts (we suspect there were other siblings). Levi's 1st wife Malissa McGlathery died abt 1862, leaving him with 4 children ( Matilda WATTS who married Montgomery Culver; James C. WATTS - I suspect he may have died in the Civil War; Louisa "Jane" WATTS married George Chandler; and Julia WATTS). Elisabeth Childers born 1832 Wilkes County North Carolina, married 1860 Murray County Geogia to Andrew J. Hunter; had two children by 1865 when husband AJ was killed in the Civil War. Elisabeth Childers, widow Hunter, migrated with her older brothers James "Wiley" Childers and Willis Childers, Jr. to Blount County, Alabama where she married Levi Watts 1867. Together Elisabeth and Levi had four children - Thomas H. Watts (buried Blooming Grove Cem, Winston CO AL), Sara "Sallie" Watts married John O. Moore, Walter Ellis Watts (my grandpa, buried Pisgah Cem, Carbon Hill, Walker CO AL), and Arthur Henry Watts (bur Hopewell Baptist Ch Hanceville). Walter Ellis Watts in 1894 Winston County, Alabama married Tinsey PAIR (daughter of George W. Pair (bur New Home Baptist Ch Cem, Winston CO AL) and Martha King (unsure where Martha buried). George and Martha (KING) Pair were married 1873 Henry County, Georgia. 1900 Winston County Census list Levi Watts, wife Elisabeth, a grandson named Calud, and sister-in-law Nancy Childers. I would like to learn who are the parents of Levi Watts, et al? Where is he buried? I would like to share information with anyone associated with any information on any of the people I mentioned here. Thank you for having this wonderful website! Sincerely,
