Alabama. Interestingly enough, in the tiny cemetery on an old plantation in Dallas County there sleeps one Patriot of the American Revolution; one soldier of the War of 1812 whoserved with Andrew Jackson and whose wife was the daughter of the man who owned the horse that beat Andrew Jackson's horse " Truxton"; a member of the Alabama Legislature; the daughter of a Supreme Court Judge who was also present when the Constitution of the State of Alabama was drawn up and at the proceedings when the Alabama Territory became a State; a Doctor of some note; one of the incorporators of the Valley Creek Seminary. May this Blevins family cemetery always be a landmark to each of those who are of Blevins descent.
