: I am seeking the maiden name for my gggrandmother Lucy A. ?, married to Richard Montgomery, but recorded on the 1880 census in Winston Co.,AL, as married to Robert Montgomery. The census states that they had 3 children: Robert L., Rachel, and William S. I have been told that Lucy's maiden name was Berry, and I notice that there is a widow named Rachel Berry living next door to them with sons William and Benjamin. Is there anyone who knows about this connection? Robert L. Montgomery and Melissa E. Mize Montgomery had 9 children. William S. Montgomery and Effie C. Mize Montgomery had 5 children. The Montgomery brothers married Mize sisters. Any info is appreciated.
