My husband's great grandfather was James M. Davis. Hw finished his life in Oklahoma (dying in 1917). I am searching for his parents. We have that he was born in Tenn. in 1836 or 1839. He served in the Civil War. It sounds like your William Davis born in 1826 would be too young to have our James M. in 1836 or 1839. However, I was hoping someone else who contacted you would have information about Davis's in Tenn. that ours might tie into. Any leads you can give would be appreciated.
