These pictures are of Slick Ford, an actual place before Clear Creek Falls were flooded and Smith Lake covered it up. Slick Ford was a place to cross Sipsey river. It was a place people came to and washed thier car and truck and swim on Saturdays and Sundays. Of course it was the main Sipsey river crossing going to Jasper or coming to Houston before bridges. These pictures were taken in the 1950s and courtesy of Robin Sterling.
