The subject of this picture is a store which use to be on the North side of the intersection of Highway 278 and County Road 63. County Road 63 South goes to Houston. The road in the right of the picture is Highway 278 looking in the direction of Brushy Creek. The lady is Missouri H. Hunter, and the man is Frank Hunter. This was the first store run by Bryan and Myrtie Alford Hunter. Later, their son, John O. Hunter had a store on the South side of the 278 for many years. His wife, Betty Sue, ran a beauty shop next door. Adjacent to the property was the Alford Lumber Company operated by Owen Alford.
