Martha Jane Taylor Lovett b. 17 May 1883 Winston Co, AL and d. 22 Jun 1957 in Etowah, AL. with burial in Liberty Grove Missionary Church Cemetery. She was the daughter of Rev. John Knox Polk Taylor & Amanda (Byrd) Taylor.

Martha Jane married James Henry Lovett on 21 Jul 1901 in Winston Co, AL. James was b. 16 Feb 1879 Winston Co, AL and d. 11 Apr 1918 Winston Co, AL. at age 39 of Bright's disease. He left 5 boys to be raised by their mother however, Martha Jane did remarry sometime after 1920 to a James Anderson Wilson.

The story told by my father (Truman H. Lovett, son of Martha Jane) was Mr. Wilson would not let the boys live with him and kicked them out of the house. My father was only 9 yrs old and his brother, Wansley, was 7 yrs old when this happened. He stated he and his brother became janitors at a school and they lived at the school while being janitors. The only son allowed to stay in the household was Spurgeon 'Spud' Lovett who was a mere 5 yrs old at the time.
