"Bettie with her second husband John Ira Gray. There was no kinship between John Ira and my Gray family, but John Ira Gray was also from Marion, Alabama. He was married several times (my great-grandmother being the last), and he is also buried in Lawrence County, Tennessee at Pleasant Garden Cemetery. This picture was in the Crestview Newspaper, Lawrence County, TN. There are no surviving Crestview Newspapers. This article was found stuck in a book that belonged to Bettie. This was their wedding day. My great-grandfather died in 1934, and Bettie married John Ira in 1936. She died in 1940, and John Ira died in 1942."

Caption under the photo: J.D. Gray and Mrs. Bettie Gray were married at the home of Elder T.C. King in Rosemont, Lawrence County, Tuesday morning. Although of the same name, they were not related. Mr. Gray is 78 years old, and his bride is 79.
