Great Grandfather Rev. Henry Lewis McCrary was born in Georgia, moved to Jefferson County, and then to Winston County and lived there until his death in 1917. He is buried at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at Needmore Winston County, AL. He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. There is an old saying that he and his three brothers joined Confederate army and vowed to not shave till they all came home from the war. As their brother James never returned, they never shaved the beards again. Grandfather Andrew William McCrary lived in Delmar on the Yankee Trace road but moved to South Haleyville early in his life and lived there till his death in 1969. He is buried at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery on County Rd. 17.
