HALEYVILLE--Anson Lee, pioneer citizen of Haleyville who celebrated his 86th birthday Oct. 17, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 12 1968, following a short illness. He had been a resident of Kelly's Home for the Aged for several weeks.

Mr. Lee was the father of three living children, Jess Lee, and Mrs. Mae (W. L.) Ellenburg of Haleyville, and Bob Lee of Timberville, VA. His body will lie in state at Nichols Chapel, with funeral services there at 2 p.m. Thursday.

W. C. Quillen or Stubby George, Church of Christ ministers, will officiate at services. Nichols Funeral Home will direct burial in Union Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Lee had done many types of work throughout the years, including helping build the Illinois Central Railroad through this area. He also worked at an oil mill, has ginned and farmed. He was born in Chesterfield S. C. but moved to Haleyville in 1896.

T. A. Lee and Daisy Stone were married in 1902. Mrs. Lee died a few years ago. They were parents of two daughters who drowned, Winnie and Audrey Lee; Sam Lee, killed by a train, and Roy Lee, also deceased, besides those still living.
