In Memory of Votie Rose. Votie Rose, daughter of William and Mary Rose, died at her home in Lynn, Winston county, May 2, 1907. She was buried at Lynn cemetery, May 3, the funeral service being conducted by Bro. C.A. Wheeler. She leaves a father, mother, two sisters and four brothers, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. Weep not for her, fond parents, Votie is not dead, but sweetly sleepeth, a sleep in Jesus, from which she will never awake to weep. May we all be robed and ready when He comes. She was a true Christian, an obedient daughter, a loving sister. She was kind and an administering angel to the sick, always speaking cheering words of comfort to them. When we reach the “golden city,” o’er Jordan’s rolling tide, will there be for us a welcome, will the gates be opened wide? Yes there awaits us a joyous welcome and a mansion bright and fair. Given by the lord of glory to meet sweet Votie when she entered there. She has gone to yonder city to abide forevermore. Oh, how sweet ‘twill be to meet her on that happy, golden shore. A Friend. Nauvoo, Alabama. [Vatie L. Rose, 7 Feb 1879 – 2 May 1907; Lynn Cemetery]
